This week, November 11-15, The Varnett Public School's intermediate and middle school students will engage in a district administered assessment. The tests measure student learning progress based on formerly released STAAR (The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness) results for grades 3-8.
Additionally, next week, November 18-22, kindergarten through second-grade students will engage in their assessment, which measures student learning progress based on their curriculum from the first and second six weeks of school.
It is important that students are encouraged to review learned strategies taught in class and do their best work on each assessment. The results inform teachers on how to best meet student needs.
As always, we encourage parents to ensure students rest well each night, eat a healthy breakfast each day, and send them to school knowing they will reach excellence.
