January 7, 2022

The Varnett Public School is adopting the following guidelines based on rules established by the Texas Education Agency and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

*All students are strongly encouraged to wear masks.

*All staff are strongly encouraged to wear masks and shields.

*Rapid tests at Varnett will be available to staff and students, but students must have their parent’s written consent.

*Outside visitors without an appointment will not be allowed on district grounds until further notice.

*If someone in the classroom tests positive for COVID, the parent of the child who had close contact may decide whether to send the child to school. It is recommended that the child be tested if he or she shows any symptoms.
