Dr. Oz, erstwhile U.S. Senate candidate and TV star who founded HealthCorps in 2003 to address health inequities in at-risk communities, recently made a Houston house call promoting mental health care for teens.
HealthCorps has a program in place at Varnett Northeast.
The Dr. Oz event was attended by Dr. Nita White, superintendent of The Varnett Public School, and Dr. Toron Wooldridge, director of the Northeast campus.
