Varnett, McDonald's partner for fund-raising event on McTeacher's Night

The Varnett Public School partnered with McDonald's to help raise funds for the Southwest Campus.

Teachers and staff Thursday night rolled up their sleeves and volunteered to work at McDonald's, 10315 S. Post Oak at West Bellfort.

McTeacher’s Night, as it’s called, is a popular fundraising program that takes place in McDonald’s restaurants. Educators, students, parents and friends are invited to their local McDonald’s to work for a designated school-related cause.

We had 15 staff members, including three from Pre-K. Ms. Miesha Thorne, administrative assistant, coordinated with Dina Munroe-Whitaker, McDonald's store manager, to bring this event together. Scores of Varnett families came to visit and buy food and drinks to support the cause.

The fund-raising event totaled nearly $500 from sales and donations. The proceeds will go toward our activity fund.
