My name is Dr. Margaret Stroud, Superintendent of The Varnett Public School. I want to introduce myself to you because Varnett is expanding to your neighborhood. On July 8, 2017, the Texas Education Agency granted Varnett an expansion amendment approving us to open a K-8 campus in southeast Houston. The location granted for opening this school is 12707 Cullen Blvd., Houston, Texas 77027. The campus name for this location is The Varnett School-Southeast.
Currently, the building is not ready to receive our students; therefore, we are delaying the opening of the school until September 5, after Labor Day. Additional time is included in your child’s daily schedules so that the school year will end May 31, 2018. Your child will not lose any instructional time due to the later start date.
We are currently accepting new enrollments for all grade levels (K-8). If your child was enrolled last year at the school previously at this location, you will need to enroll at The Varnett Public School for the 2017-18 school year. You may complete the enrollment and transportation request at our Southwest Campus located at 5025 S. Willow Drive beginning August 21- September 1 or you may call 713-667-4051 for further registration information.
