The Varnett Public School held two public hearings Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, to discuss the district's academic and financial ratings as defined by the state of Texas.
The first public hearing, which started at 3:30 p.m., was held to discuss Varnett's rating on the state's financial accountability system.
The second public hearing, which immediately followed the first, was held to discuss the performance of the district's and the three campuses' state academic accountability rating. They all met standards.
The two hearings were advertised in the Houston Chronicle on Nov. 18 and Nov. 25, 2017.
