Today at the Northeast Campus, teacher assistant Gabriela Cornejo had a special visitor: First Lieutenant and Field Artillery Officer Rosa A. Cornejo.
Lt. Cornejo is stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash., and recently returned from a 9-month tour to Syria and the United Arab Emirates. She was deployed as a rocket launcher and a platoon leader. Her team defeated ISIS forces in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, the operation to eliminate the terrorist group and the threat they pose to Iraq, Syria, and the wider international community.
Ms. Cornejo had not seen her sister in over a year. The first lieutenant contacted me and it was our pleasure to arrange the sisterly reunion.
